Oggi parleremo di un argomento che mi sta molto a cuore, le decals ad acqua.
Ma partiamo dal principio, iniziamo con alcune considerazioni interessanti.
Solitamente nei kit Bandai sono presenti due tipo di decals:

Today we talk about a topic that I really care: waterslide decals.
But let's start from the beginning, let's talk about some interesting thoughts.
Usually in Bandai kits there are two types of decals:
- Decals adesive: hanno il difetto, una volta incollate, di essere troppo spesse e "visibili" e nel caso sia necessario un reposizionamento, non sempre è possibile fare un lavoro pulito...
Adhesive decals: once are placed, they are too thick and visible, and in case you need to reposition them, it si not always possible to perform a clean work....
In questo esempio, la parte trasparente della decalcomania risulta troppo visibile, creando anche aloni di colla.
In this case the clear part of the decal is too visible and it's also creating halos of glue.
- Decals trasferibili: sono decalcomanie applicabili tramite pressione per sfregamento, come resa finale sono molto migliori di quelle adesive, dato che non hanno film trasparente. Tuttavia una volta posate sono molto fragili e delicate e talvolta di difficile posizionamento.
Dry transfer decals: they are decals applied by pressure and as final result are much better than those adhesive, since they do not have transparent film. However once cutlery they are very fragile and delicate and sometimes difficult to position.
Dopo questa breve prefazione, torniamo all'argomento principale, le decals ad acqua. Sono decalcomanie stampate a caldo su un film di plastica trasparente molto sottile, che a contatto con l'acqua si distaccano dalla parte di carta. Non avendo adesivo, finchè la superficie sulla quale sono posizionati non si asciuga, possono essere anche facilmente riposizionate. Ora una piccola spiegazione all'utilizzo di queste:
After this short introduction, let's return to the main topic, the waterslide decals. They are heat printed decals on a clear thin plastic flim, that are detached from the paper part with the water contact. Since they don't have adhesive they can also be easily repositioned until the surface on which they are positioned will not dry. Now a little explanation to the use of these:
- Dopo aver tagliato dal foglio la decal necessaria, immergerla con delicatezza per 30s~1m in un piccolo recipiente contenente acqua.
After cutting the decal from the sheet, dip in water for 30s~1m in a small bowl - Posizionare la decal sulla parte interessata e successivamente farla scivolare delicatamente dalla carta.
Put the decal in the the part that you want be it pasted and slide the backing off while transferring the decal to the part. - Autandosi con uno stuzzicadente, sistemare la decals nella corretta posizione. Se risultasse difficile da spostare, applicare qualche goccia d'acqua.
Use a toothpick to arrange the decal in the correct position. If the decal is difficult to move, apply a tiny bit of water. - Una volta posizionata la decal, asciugare l'acqua in eccesso aiutandosi un un pezzetto di scottex o, meglio un cottonfiock, premento delicatamente sulla decal in modo da stenderla interamente.
When the decal is in the right position, use a tissue or a q-tip to absorb the excess of water by pressing gently on the decal to fully straighten it. - La decal ora è posizionata correttamente, sono molto più sottili ,con colori migliori e danno un senso di precisione maggiore rispetto a quelle adesive. Provate voi stessi!
The decal has been neatly pasted. Waterslide decals are thinner and have better coloring than stickers, so they give ad hightended sense of precision. Give it a try!
